Motivation tips for your scoliosis exercises, written by Sandeep S.
What do you to help motivate yourselves when you get tired and bored of your scoliosis exercises? Here’s a list of what I do and that you can use to help you keep focused.and motivated...
1) Look at BEFORE photos of yourself, to show how you used to be, which will help you Not to be like that.
2) Have BEFORE and AFTER photographs of your backs stuck on the walls infront of you, so that you have images to show how much you have improved. This will show you that you CAN improve, so might motivate you.
3) Have music playing in the background
4) Watch a motivating light exercise video
5) Change the order of your routine every 2 weeks-(cycle your workouts).ie, do them in the morning for 2 weeks, then evening for the next two weeks. This 'change' of routine stops me getting bored, as I get bored of the same daily routing. it gives a de-ja-vu feeling and makes me feel like i am living groundhog day lol.
6) Set yourself small realistic goals, work up towards these. Then set new ones. Ie- i want to
expand my ribcage expansion with your hands on rotational breathing on exhalation
7) Get somebody to help you do the exercises, a friend, partner, your mum, etc.
8) Try and ask your family to give you encouragement. I find family encouragement helps me a lot.
9) Listen to the experts and professionals’ advice and tips (Dr Kris, Dr Ulga, Dr Amy)
10) Take one day off every month to recover and relax (don’t eat tonnes of junk food in this time off though).
11) Do it for fun, enjoy what you do.
12) visualise and imagine yourself in the future - of how you imagine yourself to look in a few months time.
13) Treat yourself to a comfort food- as a reward, (e.g. chocolate)
I hope some of these helped...
